Just go to about this mac and under more info and going to graphics/display could you guys list what revision ID it is?

mine saids:

Revision ID: 0x00a1 bought in June 3rd 2008.

ok ill play

Revision ID: 0x00a1

bought June 30th 2007

not thinking you're going to get many varying results

what are you trying to accomplish?

I've been reading about A2 having the most problems but the article saids no matter what revision A2 or A3 it will be defective.. no mentioning of apple..

could apple really be immune? Do they use specialized parts to work with their logic boards? Why does it say A1??

Seems like every mac has a rev. a1 i'm just trying to figure out if anyone else is showing a2 or a3.

Revision ID: 0x00a1

Purchased December 27th, 2007

Hopefully, we won't have any issue with our GPU

I doubt Apple are without problems, a lot of people already had these problems with the MBP, and besides MBP has the highest thermals I've seen when it comes to the 8600GT, Dell XPS 1530 for instance doesnt reach those thermals.

For some reason though it seems dell m1330 has the most issues out of the nvidia card problems and then the m1530 and pretty much all hp laptops.

So far alot of the 2.2ghz model 128mb vram mbp has alot of the problems. I'm just curious as to why.

Mine says 0x00a1 in Leopard, but if I run GPU-Z in Boot Camp, it shows that it's an A2 revision..

hmm so it actually shows the rev. in windows?? Maybe I'll have to install it to check what revision I have.

I think a more legitimate way to find out the hardware is via GPU-Z utility via Boot Camp since almost everyome has an A1 revision listed under the system profiler..

Have you tried it yourself and got a different result? Excuse my ignorance, but is there some kind of significance in the revision I don't know about

Same here A1 with a SR MBP purchased on June 14th 2007. The graphics card took a dirt nap June 13th 2008 and I had to send it in to have the logic board replaced.

The chip revision number is physically printed on the die of the chip. You cannot see this information in the system profiler.
