Or does it have to match address on credit card? Does different address cause any delay. Thank you

I think it largely depends on carrier, but you should be able to change the address based off my experience with Verizon and AT&T. If you plan to use Apple Pay for the transaction, make sure your work address is the default shipping address so that you don't need to add it while pre ordering and it automatically fills it out for you.

Ok thank you. My carrier is Att. Would I need to change the address on the ATT site as well? Thanks again

I had my 7 delivered straight to my office last year through AT&T. It was no problem. Just make sure you change the shipping address to your work address when you do your preorder and you should be good to go!

I don't believe you would... you may want to mock ordering an iPhone 8 just to make sure (just don't hit place order)... that way you can get a feel for how the system will react to you changing your ship to address.

How about if you order an AT&T device via Apple?

Edit: I just went on Apple Chat and asked about changing the shipping address:

“The shipping address that you will add must be the same shipping address from your carrier details, otherwise, you will get an error during checkout.”

So, the address with Apple does have to match the address with the carrier.

I believe you may have to change the address on your AT&T account as when you enter your carrier credentials on apple.com, it's pulling from your carrier and transfers them, this also includes your address on file with them. I suggest you change the address on your att account to your work address. After it ships and you get tracking, you can switch it back.

I ordered my daughters 8+ through Apples website and had it delivered to my work address. I didn’t change the address on our account with Sprint- and it worked fine.

I work 2 blocks from home and on the same street- so maybe it’s close enough that it wasn’t a problem.

To be safe- I will change the address before ordering the X for myself though!

Thank you so much for this information! I was worried it didnt match the cc on file but now realize it needs match carrier. Appreciate the sharing :)

You’re welcome. I may just leave it at my home address. I work from home once a week and will adjust the day according to delivery day.

I did a test ip8 and the paid in full version went to work address no problem, but trying IUP it was saying my home address. I just switched everything back. Don't want to make it more complicated. Maybe it will come before I leave at 10:15 or I can leave a nice note asking UPS to swing by my job which is not far. Just dont want to risk any bumps. I'll make him some cookies lol.

Send it home when you pre-order and put a hold at the depot once you have a tracking number and pick it up the morning of delivery , at your depot.
