HD spinning noise

Most people who bring it up are not complaining...they are just worried that it is a sign of a problem. We all know how tech fails and since this stuff costs so much it's natural to ask or wonder.
This would be the type of person I would be. I have had my Macbook Pro for 3 years. At the same time my Wife had a Dell computer in the same room. The fans in that computer sounded like an Airport. I never heard any noise from my mac until we switched her to a imac. Now I can hear my hard drive spinning in a %100 quite room about 2-3 away. So Now I just play iTunes more. It is funny how all of us had a windows computer at one time.
And the more Fans represented the power that you had. Now we have mac and we like to hear a pin drop.

MacBook Pro

I just bought my mac book pro last year before I went to college, after a year or so of owning it it started to make that buzzing noise. Its really annoying, I spend a lot of time on quiet areas and even when it isnt quiet i can still hear the computer humming. If i place my hand under the keyboard on the right side next to the mouse pad the sound disappears. I can also hear it clicking, sometimes i have to put it to sleep in order to make the clicking stop. As I was reading from the previous posts you guys says its normal. I have taken my computer to the apple care around 2-3 times and they have kept it for testing claiming that nothing is wrong, my fan has also been replaced but do you think this is really normal? My computer was once "dead" silent. I dont download anything, no music no movies. Its all school work, and i take incredibly good care of it. Also im no the only one that can hear it, when people are sitting next to me they can hear it as well. It is extremely annoying!

If I put my ear down to the hard drive, it's almost like a low buzz. This computer is brand new, I've done hardware test (no problems), disc utility (no problems), seems to be running fine. Maybe I just have sensitive ears? It's prob just the heads spinning, and it's normal...
BTW, if I have a SATA HD, it was my understanding that I couldn't install a SSD drive (because I won't have the right connection?...
The heads on a HD do not spin. The hard disk platters spin and the heads, at the end of an arm, swing inward or outwatd to pick up the data as it spins by.
The image of the "heads spinning" over a stationary platter had my head spinning for a second there!:D
The SSD drives available now have the same SATA interface and they are designed to work in the same computers.
