I have never used Automator so im not sure if this is even possible, but what I want to do is move all .mpeg, .avi, and .mov file types from a specific folder and throw them into my Movies folder. The folder im moving from is the mother folder for a lot of sub folders so this would save me a lot of time. Can i get some help creating this in automator?

Well, I use Aperture to organize all of my files, so upon connecting my camera to the computer I run:

ask finder for items (finder)
import photos (aperture)
set IPTC tags (aperture)

you don't really need to learn anything–just think of something you'd like to automate, and go through, finding the different actions you'd like replicated.
