Can you identify this snake?

I stepped on this snake while running... Does anyone know what it is? (I live in central FL, USA). I think it is 2.5ft long....

Considering you were able to get close enuf to it to take a pic, I'm assuming you killed it when you stepped on it?

Yup good call on it being a Yellow Rat... I showed it to my friend last night and he said the same thing.

Just got back from running again tonight... Saw another yellow rat snake literally 5ft from the one I stepped on!

This one was a lot smaller... Made sure I didn't step on the little fellow! Those things really need to wise up and get out of the street!
