Yes, just enable disk use in iTunes and drag text files into the notes folder on the iPod. Make sure the files are .txt files.

You might have to split the larger file up - I think the maximum size for a text note on the iPod is 4K.

If you want to do large files, such as books, you'll need to break them up into smaller documents. I think a it can only display around 1000 characters per document.

Yup; enable Disk Use, then navigate to your iPod using the Finder (or Windows Explorer...) and there is a 'notes' folder there.

Thanks Mad. I tried out all three of these and none were perfect but did help. I did a searh and found Pod2go http://www.kainjow.com/pod2go/features/
It does the job very nicely. Thanks again.
