Hi,

I am having issues when mirroring to Apple TV with my iPhone on IOS 12. When I do a FaceTime video call (or whatsapp video call), it goes automatically into portrait mode even if my iPhone is on landscape mode.

This is annoying because I cannot see the people I am calling with in full screen.

Any way to resolve this?

Many thanks!

Exact same problem. This is silly too since Facebook messenger, Hangouts, and Skype all do it just fine.
Unfortunately i need to use FaceTime or Whatsapp for a call with my son on a mission in Africa this Christmas. Would really love a way to use the entire TV instead of a tiny fractions of the TV screen in portrait mode...
Any known ways to get around this?

Same here: iPhone 7 plus, iOS 11.4.1, appleTV 3rd gen tvOS 7.2.2, FaceTime has NEVER EVER rotated correctly. You can find posts going back YEARS to iOS 8 for this same problem! Unbelievable that Apple's own software does not work correctly. I found that Skype worked perfectly in the past. But today, the Skype video would fill the screen correctly in landscape, but I could not get the Skype audio to pass over airplay!! Aaaaarrrrrgggghhhh! Discovered that iPad DOES ROTATE just fine! iPad mini 2 running iOS 10.
