iPhone X Can you press the side button too hard

i had my phone in my hand and was walking down the hallway in my house. I was just about to click the side button when my brother pops out from a doorway and scared the crap out of me. And I inadvertently pressed the side button with much more force than I normally would. I know way back there were issues with lock/unlock buttons breaking. Is that still a thing?

I just pressed my side button with a lot of force. Still works.
