Can you select any other backround besides the Earth?

I remember Steve using the Clownfish backround when the iPhone was first introduced. Can you select other backrounds? Because the one of Earth is pretty boring.

Yes you can. Go to Settings -> Wallpaper

From there you can select what wallpaper you would like.

You can find it on flickr. There are also many other iphone sized wallpapers on flickr that you can.

Put the files in a location where itunes will sync them to the iPhone, and then you can use any of them.
