What do you think about Google map?

More specificaly, how reliable is the Google direction map function? (going from point a to point b)
Has anyone already tried that (for some reason, I prefer printing out direction and following the instructions on a piece of paper - "Old school" - 12-days-old school actualy)

Mapquest sucks, i know that, so I was wondering if google map is any better...

I've always found google maps to be pretty good for directions.

The Google map directions have been spot on so far. I was looking forward to not have to print out directions everytime. Pain in the rear and a waste of trees. Plus your printed out maps can't tell you which freeways have congested traffic or not. I love Google maps.

I believe all those who provide online directions always have some sort of disclaimer. This is Google's:

I've rarely been let down by Google's directions and I use them pretty exclusively.

Google is pretty solid. I generally find it to be more accurate and closer to what "locals" suggest than mapquest or yahoo maps. But if you aren't sure or live in an area that can be marginally for mapping software, you can always double check against mapquest and yahoo to be safe.

I've always found googles directions to be unreliable. Proved me right again on July 4th, got lost for 30 minutes had to rely on my built in self navigation skills...I wish there was a option for yahoo maps, which is waaay more superior...

Although I don't use directions since my car has GPS, I've been running into problems with the business finder. Don't rely on it, and make sure to call the phone number listed before you try to get there to make sure the store is still around. I've ran into a problem more than a few times of a restaurant being gone for several years, and it still being listed on Google Maps.

I find that google maps will get you from point a to point b. Although it is shotty when trying to navigate places that are further from large cities.

Example: I was trying to go to a cabin in Northern Ontario and google maps gave me directions to get there with a trip time of 3 hours. It was taking all main roads and I got there in the 3 hour time frame it had estimated. However I have since gotten better directions and can make the trip in just an hour.

Google maps is great for getting directions in cities, not so good for anything else.
