So, I want to calibrate my battery once it's fully charged, so then I can discharge it. But whenever I do this, my computer shuts off and "saves the session" with a couple percentage of battery life left, so it NEVER fully drains the battery. Is it possible to turn the saving feature off?

I don't think so... since it's about 3 or 4%, I don't think it will affect battery calibration that much.

How long are you allowing it to sleep after it shuts off? I can take some time to fully discharge in sleep mode. Apple recommends leaving it for 5 hours.
