MP 7,1 Can you use a 2023 Mac Pro Space Frame Top Plate on a 2019 Mac Pro?

Recently bought a 7,1 and it arrived with a pretty bent space frame top plate. Anyone here use 2023 Mac Pro enclosure parts from the Apple’s Self Service Store on a 2019?

Antenna works across Windows, macOS, and Linux so I’d like to replace the top plate and having trouble finding a 2019 one.

It has a different part number (923-03336) in the 2019 service manual, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't compatible.

I guess that makes this post pretty unhelpful, now that I think about it

The 2019 MP comes with WiFi 5 (AC) while the 2023 comes with WiFi 6e (AX) including the new 6GHz band. The 2023 will contain an updated antenna for 6GHz. Plus TB4 ports.

It's possible these are the only changes. If so, the 2023 plate might work well on a 2019. While using a 2019 plate in a 2023 would cause inferior (or no) 6GHz reception. Along with TB3 speeds from the top ports.

I don't own either model, so cannot offer a solid answer. I'd be hesitant about ordering the 2023 part.

Have you considered trying to unbend your existing plate? Pull it off, use a piece of wood against the top plate before applying force. So you don't mar the finish.

It looks like the Apple self service store is selling just the frame part without anything else on it.
