Anyone knows why we don't have it here yet?

Is it because the "bring your own device" plans aren't worth it?
Is it because the dollar exchange rate would make it un appealing?
Is it regulated by some kind of law?
Is there something i'm not seeing?

Who's pressing the brake on this? Canadian carriers? Our government? Apple?

I need to understand!

I bet that with the costs of the iPhone increasing in other markets such as the UK and EU, rather potentially lose a sale that's an even larger up-front cost, Apple has prioritized is Upgrade Program to those markets. It's much easier for people to commit to making smaller monthly payments.

Just my two cents.
