WOOHHOOOOOOO TOMMROW IM FINALLY ORDERING MY MACBOOK (macbook pro because of the update) tom which i have waited for almost a year now.

I'm currently in high school and don't qualify for the education discount but i want the itouch included with the deal plus 100$ off. I know plenty of people (e.x cousins friends) who i can ask for proof. I know it qualifies if you "buy it for them" so do they just want proof that your buying it for someone is college?

so if i put it under my name what proof would i need to say im "buy it for my cousin". the reason being is i want to get all the info before i buy it rather than calling up 20 people asking for student i.d's or whatever is needed

No such thing as an iTouch. It's an iPod touch.
And that's a type of fraud. You could just ask them when you buy your MBP. I wasn't even in High School when I bought my MacBook and they gave me a few education discounts.

Did you not just read what the smartest user on this forum said? And I'm sure you're not going to pass off as a parent, so don't even try it.

okay so i put it under their name and then that person "gives" it to me problem solved obviously with their permission otherwise that would be fraud

Um, I don't know what everybody here is referring to, but Apple didn't ask me for any verification over the phone. I actually spoke to 3 different representatives as I was back and fourth about whether to order over the phone or pick it up in store, and neither of the representatives asked for ANY verification. They all told me I was eligible for an iPod touch and additional discount without even questioning whether or not I was a student. Of course, my brother does attend a university so regardless, I'd be able to get the discount.

Of course it isn't fraud. If someone else attends a university and wants to buy it for you, why would there be an issue? I was with my buddy at the Apple Store when he bought his first MacBook. He simply told the Mac Specialist that he was buying the computer but his sister was the one enrolled in university. She flashed her card, and he ended up paying for the Mac, with his own debit card.

You ordered over the phone and went in the store to pick it up? and no questions once you were in the store? im thinking about doing that instead of waiting 8 business days for it to deliver

Sorry for not clarifying, but I was simply deciding whether or not to order it over the phone and wait for shipping or to pick it up myself in store. I don't believe there is an option to order it over the phone and pick it up in store.
