Sounds like a good deal - competitive american-like prices! Have you ordered from NCIX? Do they have good service? Have you ordered/installed your ram yet?

I know nothing about the different ram companies - my thought is, if it works, it's good enough for me... Any reason to go with the OCZ or another brand?

Thanks for keeping us up to date!

Got my Hitachi TravelStar HD from NCIX, no problems. That Fry's deal looked pretty good, though, and I ordered 4 sticks from them.

How does Transcend's quality compare to OCZ's?

But in general for any cross-border purchases watch out for customs brokerage charges which can run $5 to $30 depending on the courier used.

Also Mail-in rebates from USA vendors usually cannot be claimed if you don't have a US address, and warranty replacement is expensive; out of country buyers have to pay shipping and border costs both ways if it is DOA or has to be replaced under warranty.

I was just going to say. I've been looking for Canadian RAM lately, too, but I've found nothing below $120 or even close to it.

NCIX is excellent. Canadian company out of British Columbia. I've bought many a thing from them. They showed the RAM as out of stock and taking a week to 3 weeks, but I just got confirmation that mine is shipping today. Woot!

BTW, the problem with this is it's not a kit, it's only 2GB. It's always a lot cheaper to buy two sticks but if you want a dual-channel kit, you pay more. $179 is a nice deal, at least from what I've seen. Even in the US, typically the kits are around $200 at the cheaper places.
