canceling a text

maybe i am the only one that is bothered by the absence of this, but as far as i know there is no way to cancel a text after you hit send. on my old phone, while the text was sending, if i hit the end button it would cancel the send. this is not able to be performed on the iPhone and i think the only way would be to turn off the phone but this takes too long to perform before the text sends. i would like to be able to do this is case an accidental text is being sent

This would be nice as I have accidently sent a text before I was done typing several times. 😎

I've also been annoyed by this as sometimes i dont look at what i typed until i hit send, then i see an embarassing typo.

yeah cus sometimes my finger taps the send when i go to type p, or o for instance, and with the touch screen it is not forgiving at all
