This is a really lame justification for not putting the money towards a watch. Your phone is now your watch? Why not make your laptop your new phone while you're at it? Make your bicycle your new car?

The minimum I could do is the 42MM at $399 and not like it at all...

The price of the Apple Watch is a base $350. You can pay just that and be done. The additional extras are peoples choice to buy.

I agree absolutely. It's all down to personal preferences.

If Apple can get the price of the extras down considerably (and they are rather high for what they are now) they may stand a chance of dominating this market.

For many folks, a unique watch is an expression of their individuality. Who, for instance, wants to be seen wearing the same "economy-model" of watch as everybody else? The sport is unique and individualistic now, but in 6 months, everyone (and particularly their over-indulged kids) will be wearing it.

I like a lot of people had a hard time justifying the price of the Watch. I ordered a Silver aluminum, black band, Blue leather band, Applecare plus, and a charging cable. I was at $700 for the base model that I kinda liked... but wouldn't love.

So I decided to take a different approach. My iPhone 6 plus will be my small portable device. I already have an ipad Air 2 that just sits at home.. but it's staying there.

I found that the new iPad mini 2 128GB LTE models are selling for $399. Best Buy, Walmart etc... prices fluctuate. I added it to my AT&T plan that always has 35 GB of data left each month (20 GB free upgrade and rollover $100 per month) for $10 a month. Now I have a new toy that I can take wherever. Not to say that I won't ever buy a Watch... but I will wait for the next model or prices to come down at other retailers.

Just my.. To each his own...cool story bro...story:D

I thought the same. I would probably use the watch only for notification when driving or if at work and was curious only if any emails/calls/texts came in. I'm actually waiting for CarPlay. I'd use that over the watch and can do everything from the controls on the steering wheel when driving. Then, once I'm out and about, use my 6+ as I would if I had a watch. For me personally, the watch is redundant (or maybe not IDK), I'll have to read the benefits once people here start posting their experience. I'll hold off for now.

I'm still waiting for a photo of you using your iPhone 6 Plus as a watch.

And we all thought 42mm was big...

So you initially ordered a Watch Sport, multiple extra straps, an extra charger and AppleCare+ (which is reasonable but can be bought within 60 days to offset the initial cost) and then got the cold feet because the "base model" was too expensive? Huh.

lol right!

Million of people dropped watches after mobile phones came the norm... you're being ridiculous.

Completely true, but those watches only gave the time, and maybe the date.

As you can readily see, the :apple: Watch is far more than a watch and it enhances the iPhone in your pocket by working in concert with it to convey notifications, remotely control music, measure health, and a host of other things.

That's not to say it's a good purchase for everyone. Not at all. If you're not going to make the most of it, don't spend the dough. But to say that it is completely redundant to the phone is simply not accurate.
