Someone else may have a clear answer on this, but canceling like this might lose your phone number.
Extra things to think about. Someone else may have a clear answer on this, but canceling like this might lose your phone number. Unless you started a new account with a number you don't care about. Again, maybe someone can say for sure. And if you plan stick with ATT, to go month to month plan, there may be a wait period.
...ATT will not prorate your last months bill.
I only got the phone to cancel it, I wasn't 100% percent sure how long I had to wait.. I have been on Tmobile for a few years..
Cancel it today and return the iPhone.
You realize you basically have to pay for 2 months service. ATT will not prorate the second month.
That's why they force you to cancel after 30 days. You can cel before 30 days you must return phone or be charged full retail price $599/699.
You wait until day 31, you en up paying for the full second month but you get to keep your phone. But you end up paying an extra $40-50 for second month since ATT will not prorate your last months bill.
So ATT will get their money from you. You end up basically paying almost the full retail money for the iPhone with your $36 activation fee your $175 ETF and your 2 months of ATT service.
Does the OP want to keep the iPhone to use on T-Mobile's network though?
So you were able to cancel and keep your phone? I too am in the same situation. I paid my first month + prorate and I am on my third billing cycle. I love the phone to death, but the service in the southeast is complete garbage. Im going back to Verizon/Alltell.
