iPhone 15 Pro cancelling AppleCare subscription on trade in

Now that my iPhone 15 pro is out for delivery, do I need cancel my AppleCare+ on my old iPhone 13Pro or does it cancel automatically when I trade it in?

I’d just cancel it to be sure. You can do it in the settings

If you paid in full, you will have to call Apple for a prorated refund.

From what I read you can transfer to your new phone.
