I ordered a black 32gb iPhone 4 today. How difficult would it be to cancel that order and buy a white one tomorrow if they were to magically go on sale? Has anyone cancelled a processing order with them to pick up an instore reservation? Any help would be appreciated.

I really doubt you could get someone on the phone who could do that for you.

It should be a simple procedure, but I have no faith in AT&T call-center support.

If you ordered from an AT&T store you probably could easily.

But good luck, I wish you the best :)

I ordered in store and it is still processing. The Apple Retail Store had them in stock yesterday and I called AT&T and went through hell to cancel my order and it was totally unsuccessful. They kept giving me BS about how I have to have it ship to the store then return it there. Total crap. I don't know why you can't cancel AT&T orders. It's like they trap you in the order. Lesson learned: ALWAYS BUY DIRECT FROM APPLE! I'm still so mad!

Exact same happened to me yesterday. They told me the exact same BS as if they were trained to do that. I was so ready to cancel my AT&T account. Finally, a supervisor cancel it 30 minutes before apple store close. I'm still mad too.

I pick it at Pasadena store. The apple employee told me he just helped another guy had same problem. Yes, only deal with apple.

Oh, the AT&T sales even told me apple care covers accidents! I think I am crazy to sign another 2 years of contract!
