ummmmmmm, im sorry, but EVERYTHING in the 21st century causes cancer, like even cancer causes cancer now...

hahaha +1....i love it...i read it and couldn't stop laughing. its sad but that's all everyone thinks these days. Everything gives you cancer and makes you fat. I'm gonna have to blame apple now for me eating because they give me the ability to look up in Google maps my favorite place to eat.

Yeah I guess it's funny when you are young and perhaps not know of anyone that has died of cancer.

We are being bombarded by all kinds of radiation everyday anyway. This is FUD through and through.

TV, cell phones, microwaves, wifi, lightbulbs, anything electronic is sending out one form of radiation or another.

It's our microwave ovens causing cancer, and out TVs!!
What the iPhone does, it actually uses it's 3G and WiFi signals to kill the cancers that are caused by other things.

People live longer these days than in days we didn't have cell phones!

The iPhone cures Cancer!

The difference is we don't put TV's and microwaves to our head. At least not yet. ;)

Decades ago people didn't know smoking causes cancer. They probably laughed about it as some do now about cell phones.

I thought your point was that we do put microwaves against our heads. That's what a cellphone antenna is, anyway. Cell phone radiation has not been conclusively linked to causing cancer. The same kind of scare happened a while ago with 60Hz power lines. The "hum" off the lines was also not conclusively linked to cancer, but a few supporters twisted this to mean it "might" cause cancer, and therefore power lines aren't safe.

I'm not saying cell phone radiation will never be linked to cancer, but as of right now, it's not.

Like another poster said, everything has a potential to cause cancer. Eat 600 bananas, and guess what? You could get cancer. I'd rather enjoy and take what I can from life than running from things that may or may not harm me.

80% of all people who have died of cancer have eaten carrots in the previous month. OMG, eating carrots causes cancer! Equally as ignorant statement.

When people or groups make these statements, look for other motives and stop living your life in fear.

If I was so inclined, I could do a study of MR users, and show that use of MR leads to cancer. It's all how you use the statistics. Use your iPhone and enjoy life. If you're that scared of it, then use the speakerphone capability.

The balance of scientific evidence suggests that microwave radiation from cell phones has no physiological affect on the human body. Microwaves, especially at the low powers used in cell phone transmitters, simply are not energetic enough to damage DNA molecules.

And regardless of this, the iPhone releases no more microwaves than any other cell phone. Transmitter power is regulated by the FCC and is the same for all cell phones.

Radioactivity is all around us. It's in the rocks I climb on weekends. I have always felt the human body is worthless after 70 anyway.

Besides the fact that there is a process called "hysteresis" that shows that a little radiation is actually good for you. The ICRP only uses a straight line of risk from cancer/death to amount of radiation from zero to be conservative. The risk actually is negative (increases life) for low radiation.

RF Energy is of little harm to you until it starts getting more directional and higher powered. That's why you can't be standing in front of an active cell tower because they focus the RF energy to make the signal better and use amps to increase the power. Think of it this way handset = hose and cell tower = power washer. The handset can't really hurt you (weak omnidirectional antennas pose little harm) and as your readig this and as imtyping this RF energy in various different powers and frequencys is goig through you and there's nothing you can about it, but there are several radios in the phone more so than most handset but again there low power. Don't worry about it trust me there's much more bigger health hazards that your iPhone..

Oh my god! Get over yourself. If you're worried about the damn phone giving you cancer, put it down and stop using it. Quit looking at that computer monitor, cause at one time it was reported that looking at that gave you cancer too. Oh, and don't drive in your car, cause the exhaust fumes will give you cancer. In fact, don't step outside, because the air could give you cancer.

Here's a short list of things that might give you cancer:

1. Everything

My mother has beat cancer 2 twice now and has caught 3 different pre-cancers. She got her first cell phone just over a year ago. So don't worry about the phone.

The GPS reciever is only on when you are using any app that accesses it, if you are just on the phone or playing games or sending texts or whatever it will not even be on.

I am doing a essay in in science about if phones cause cancer ATM and most of the research yeilds no evedance at all. Ask all the people using BlackBerrys etc., are they still alive and well?

but you still have GPS satellites smacking you on top of your head. Even if you leave your iPhone at home. :p

Also it needs to be pointed out that radiation is radiation. None of it is GOOD for you. We are constantly being bombarded and impaled by radiation from natural and man made sources. Our bodies can correctly react to most forms of low dose radiation, however continued exposure to low levels of radiation is just as bad a one good sized dose.

If you answer the phone will your head explode for a brain tumor? no most likely not. If anyone is really worried about getting cancer for your phones then all I can suggest is a better diet to extend life expectancy.

Perhaps a more effective solution to avoiding brain tumors from your iPhone is frequenting McDonalds and smoking 2 packs a day. After all, if the coronary and emphysema gets you first - 's death rays are simply out of luck. Beat them to the punch!

use the earphones

but then you get nut cancer (if you a dude of course) cause the phone either sits in your pocket next to your marbles or clip to your waist which again, is next to your marbles.

I wonder if Tom Green or Lance Armstrong had their cell phones in their pockets for a few years =)

That bluetube product on his site sucks. I bought it. Don't like it. Just passing on the info about the safety issues.

For those who don't take this serious, that's fine. Do what you want. Better to be informed and make up your own decision. I own and still use an iPhone. I would like to put pressure on cell phone companies, including Apple, to make safer phones. Sorry if some of you have a problem with that. Perhaps some work for the company, thus the hard response.

How do you make a phone that doesn't radiate as much? The radiation is just whatever form of communication theyre using being cellular, bluetooth, wifi. You wonder why new phones have such high radiation levels, its because they have so many types of connectivity. But again, its all just a blip compared to what your everyday radiation you get from everday gadgets/appliances. Radiation is our world, without it nothing would be alive.

No, I happen to know about radiation and its effects, since I am a professional in the field (not some quack on a website). Radiation DOES have effects, but not at the levels you are seeing in your iPhone and surely not supported by any reputable research. I also have an issue when you post links to reported experts, who are just trying to sell products based on fear.
