It must have been a profound experience if you remember your last candy bar purchase from over 2 years ago! :D

:p

I honestly can't remember what it was, so I was really guesstimating. Considering how long ago I last ate a candy bar, it could easily have been a Dove bar.

And surely Ghirardelli? :)

To be honest, whenever I've eaten Ghiradelli, it's always been one of their special flavors, so it's been hard for me to tell how good their regular dark chocolate is.

The fact that I didn't take notice of any bad chocolate flavor probably means it's pretty good. :p

Oh How could forget?? I LOVE THOSE!:D

Ghirardelli chocolate is amazing: practically the only American chocolate I can stomach. Plus, their ice-cream shop is too much fun. :)

The ice cream shop in Ghiradelli Square? That place has become a tourist trap through and through. :(

There are a few other places for ice cream in SF that I'd much rather prefer, although for a nice sampling of Ghiradelli's season specials, I guess the Square isn't so bad.

Coming from Sacramento where it's 105 F, absolutely! But I brought a jacket of course. ;) ...You only make that mistake once. :D

Every non-local has to do it once in their lives. :D

It wouldn't be SF without the $50 sweatshirt vendors. :p

Bi-Rite better be among them. :D

Honestly, I've never been there.

So, I think it's ice cream as an appetizer and cheese/whiskey for dessert then! :D
Polly Ann's is or was awesome, but based on Google Maps, I'm not even sure it's still there.

Huh Google Maps sure can't make up its mind. I was there in September last, and it was still on Noriega. Why would they have switched locations to begin with? I bet it's just Google error.

 Okay, that's Bi-Rite and Monk's Kettle sometime. :) They're very near each other.

Perfect meal! :D

I dunno. I just checked Street View and the block looks like some of those recently-rebuilt apartment units. There's still some commercial stuff on the ground floor, but I didn't see Polly Ann's. I haven't been in a long, long time, but I'm going to be mad if they're gone.

So I see. :)

The menu looked very promising.

Well, we can't leave out some fried potato product as our vegetable side. ;)

Honestly, I don't remember seeing a large Polly Ann's sign when I went there. The street view could easily gloss over it.

I think you should play Holmes and investigate. :D

We calls them chocolate bars (if they're chocolate) or sweets (if they're sugar infused mouth orgys).

I likes me some Dime, or Daim as they call them in Ikea. Regular shops and off-licenses round my way dont seem to stock them anymore :(
Mars are okay but kinda filling. Less snack, more mini meal.
Galaxy is just creamy goodness.

Runners up include Opal Fruits dammit! Smarties, Skittles, Milka. But I don't have much of these.

I hain't had a candybar in ages.

...I mean, if you don't count expensive Starbucks coffee-chocolate squares as candybars.

I usually like to indulge in a TAKE 5 mmm
