I recently got some powerline adapters to connect my iMac to a wired network in the next room. But now I am not able to connect to my freenas that is connected directly to the router. It works over wifi but not through the powerline adapter. My setup is below

Freenas -> Netgear WNDR3700v1

iMac -> Zyxel PLA4205 -> Zyxel PLA4205 -> WNDR3700

I tried it with a Windows computer and it works fine. Am I missing something?

Those power line adapters are terrible. They are slow, prone to interference, and frequent timeouts.

Buy a long ethernet cable and plug it in, and you'll see that the problem is those adapters, not your mac.
