Cannot calibrate my LCD colour

I did a somewhat minimalist install of OS X, and I've just found that I can't calibrate the colour on my screen.

I inserted a Tiger DVD, and I couldn't find the option under 'Optional Installs" I haven't tried my restore disks however...

Any ideas?

I have not personally experienced this, but it looks like this thread has some good suggestions. See in particular the very last reply.

Also if you have not already done so, make sure to combo update to 10.4.8...
