I am unable to change the font color in the current version of Thunderbird (102.1.2) by:

1. Highlighting the text to change.
2. Clicking the icon to change the color.
3. Selecting a new color from the dialog.
4. Clicking OK.

After clicking OK, the color does not change. And, the two little squares for the color picker you see in the toolbar also still are white on white so no change there, either. I'm composing in HTML otherwise I wouldn't see the color change icons in the toolbar.

I've duplicated this issue on two computers and multiple email accounts.

Can anyone explain what I could be doing wrong or if this is a bug of some kind?

Thanks!

This is apparently not a bug, but a confusingly implemented feature. To change the color you have to first CLOSE the color picker pop-up. If you leave it open even after the color you picked appears back in Thunderbird, the color won't actually change.

Thanks for posting this! I was having the same problem. When I closed the color picker window, my selected text changed color. What a weird way to implement that. I'm having trouble figuring out why they would do it that way. But as a retired tech support rep, I also know that if it's fixed, don't ask too many questions, just sail on!
