I have an Airport Extreme connected via ethernet to a modem which supplies the internet to the house. I have two airport express stations wirelessly extending that one extreme. The other day one of my airport express base stations came up with the error "cannot extend wireless network. I power cycled the router, set it back up and nothing works. All the settings match the airport extreme. It was working until about 4 days ago. Any ideas on what might be causing the issue?

Try downgrading to 7.6.1. It is possible that an Express could have died.

Ill try downgrading. It can create a wireless network and can join one, it just won't extend. Its the weirdest thing

EDIT: downgrading did not work.

The MacBook's AppleCare would cover any AirPort purchased up to two years before the purchase of the MacBook.

Perfect! I will make a trip to the Apple Store. Not today on Black Friday of course :D Thank you for all your help!!!!

Yes I do have the extended warranty. I always get it for my Macs. Thanks again!!!!

No problem! I just didn't want you to go to the Apple Store and try to get a replacement under the one-year limited warranty and go "Altemose lied to me"...
I am glad AppleCare covers the AirPorts as I have had to use it before.
