Not sure when this happened, but I just noticed that all my file extensions are being displayed, and I can't figure out how to hide them again. The "show all file extensions" option is NOT checked in Finder > Preferences > Advanced, but extensions are being shown in all folders anyway. Anyone have another idea where I should look to hide them?

Thanks!

Define "all". Things like mp4, avi, dmg files etc will always appear unless you delete it out.

If you open your Applications folder, do you see "Address Book" or do you see "Address Book.app"?
