This is driving me mental today.....

So I did a reinstall the other week, and finally got round today installing logic 9 to spend the day recording some demos. ONLY, couldn't get the thing to install.

Everytime I tried I'd get the same "installation failed" screen at the end of the process. I tried it from my retail DVD, ripping the DVD, hell I even went and downloaded versions off the internet to see if they would work - NOTHING. same thing everytime. This dvd installed perfectly under 10.7.1 the other month.

So, I gave up and decided to go a hard drive wipe and used lion recovery to do a clean install. Of course, the software went and reinstalled 10.7.3 not 10.7.0 ( damn you apple ! ). Thing thing I did was try to install the software off the disc again - same error.

Has anyone come across this before, and has a solution? I've wasted the entire day on forums, and help pages looking for an answer

15" Macbook Pro 2010
10.7.3
Logic Studio 9.0.0 ( I have the 9.1.6 + 9.1.7 patches but obviously you have to install the software before using them ! )

Finally got it installed.

I had to download Lion AGAIN from the mac app store, throw it onto a USB, reinstall AGAIN, (thankfully it stayed on 10.7.0 ) and then immediately install Logic before anything else.

Then upgrade to 9.1.7 of Logic, and THEN 10.7.3 (in that order)

Least it finally works !
