Cannot move file to external hard drive

Hello,

I am trying to free up space by moving large files and collections to an external hard drive.

I have an iPhoto Library ~42 GB in size and ~46 GB of space on a partition in the external hard drive. When I try to copy the iPhoto Library over, I get the message that there is not enough free space. 😕

Has anyone resolved this issue before? Thanks.

Free up some space on the external drive. The numbers regarding file size and space available don't always agree.
