Hey guys,

An 8gig first gen was dropped into my hands yesterday from a friend who wanted me to unlock it for use with t-mobile. I am a fairly fluent iphone user and have unlocked and jailbroken maaany many phones before. Naturally the first thing I try when he gives it to me is to pwn it using pwnage tool 2.0.1

Firmware builds fine but when it comes time to restore the phone I am receiving an error "This iPhone could not be restored to to an unknown error (6)."

The strange part if when restoring back to the original 2.0 apple firmware it is totally fine, but when attempting to downgrade (yes i made sure i brought down the baseband and everything as well) i recieve a similar error only the number 6 changes to a 20.

So as i am, i am stuck on legitimate 2.0 firmware and can't seem to load anything else (even other legitimate firmware)

has anyone seen this issue before?

just FYI entering DFU mode as opposed to recovery mode fixed this issue:
