I have a 2007 MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard OS 10.6.6. I purchased the above captioned printer/scanner/copier within the past year and it worked great w/ my old Windows desktop. I cannot scan. I am receiving error messages. I have reloaded the HP software and still am receiving error messages and cannot scan. Any suggestions for a work around?:)

I could never get the HP software for my Photosmart C7280 to work well so to scan, I always use Image Capture which is already in Applications. Give it a try, its worth a shot!

I have the same printer, make sure your downloading the correct version for your os. If I remember correctly the printer came with drives for 10.5.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_2 like Mac OS X; en-gb) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8H7 Safari/6533.18.5)

Your first mistake was to install any of the HP software. It doesn't add any functionality and is just lots of nasty windows-style bloatware trying to replace iphoto etc.

I have that exact printer and have had no problems scanning since I got rid of all the HP stuff. The drivers built into OS X give you access to all the scanner features, without having to use the shoddy ports of windows scanning utilities.

snaky69, can you tell me how to use IMAGE CAPTURE? Is it a program on my laptop? i'm new to MAC - sorry to be silly. thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Using spotlight(the little magnifying glass on the top right) type image capture, the first result that pops up should be the correct one.

Otherwise, it is located inside application/utilities.

Make sure your printer is turned ON and plugged in, once that is done, it's pretty easy to use.

THANK YOU! This worked.:)
