I work in my office with my MacBook Air attached to a larger screen.
If I switch off mirroring, to enable me to see two documents on different screens, I cannot see the menu bar on either screen.
I have looked around in Display but cannot solve it. My husband has the same setup and his works!
Grateful for any help.

It may sound silly, but did you try a reboot? I know the menu bar should show on 1 screen when using Mountain Lion...mavericks will add the menu showing on both screens.

Weird thing is I did a time machine restore on 2 machines, and both had similar issues, the first time restarting into OS X, the menu bar would randomly disappear and reappear. One reboot later and they both work fine.
