I am trying to connect to the libraries of my friends throught the network in our dorm, but I cannot see any of the shared libraries. All of my friends can shares theirs, but I am unable to share mine. The only difference I can find, is that I have a wireless router, but that shouldnt make a difference. How can I fix this?

Ditch the router? (Replace it with a WAP).

Sharing only works within a single network. i.e. both the host and client need to be on the same network. Most routers usually create their own local network and use network address translation (NAT) to the rest of the world. So, you're not on the same network as them and can't access their stuff.
