Cannot sign into apple id on my 10.10 machine

As a result my messages, FaceTime and iCloud are all inactive. I get a message "the user name or password is incorrect". I can sign into apple id ONLINE but as far as anything that requires it on my MacBookAir, it does not work. I suspect it may have something to do with keychain but anything I delete related to apple id in keychain pops right back up. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Please don't be insulted, but is it possible it's asking for your computer pass and not Apple? Just mentioning this because I went through this a few days ago. Somewhere in the iMessage and Facetime set up it asks for your computer pass. I entered my Apple pass a few times before I realized it was the wrong one.
