Hi Folks,
Here's how it went:
Installed a PCI card in my beige G3 mac, third party card.
Started up mac - no problem, eveerything running fine except card was incompatible!
Shut down.
Removed PCI card.
Started up - freeze. - Will start(sometimes) with extensions off otherwise freeze.
Cannot see error code at freeze, as window appears but is blank.
Cannot start from OS 9 CD unless extensions off. - does this mean it's a hardware problem?

Have tried resetting NVRAM, PRAM, CUDA, ended up wiping drive but still no joy!?

Please help

Duff-Man says...check the RAM...pull out the chips and try using just each one and see what happens. You mention resetting nvram, but did you re-seat the RAM - perhaps while putting the PCI card in/out you nudged a dimm and it's not sitting well? ...oh yeah!

Have tried EVERYTHING!!!
Tried it with single stick (3 diff. sticks, 3 diff. times)
Tried it after removing all 3rd party pieces

I resorted to physically removing the hard drive and just starting it with the OS 9 cd in the drive...no change!
The startup screen comes up but then just hangs/freezes. No extensions load or only Apple Enet then hangs.
Trying to start with the space bar down freezes!

At a complete loss as what to do.... :(

Thanks Duff for your input
