Cannot synch calendar due to inconsistent Data

I've tried searching the forums for this problem's solution but to no avail. here's what I get:

"Calendars could not be synched due to inconsistent data. Confirm that your computer's data is valid, then reset Calendars on MobileMe in System Preferences."

I went into the control panel (Running Windows XP), reset synch data. Also went into itunes and reset synch. Tried synching again then I still get the error message for both calendar and contacts.

Should I just wipe the phone and restore...or ??
