cannot turn on iMessage?

    I am not sure what to do here? My FaceTime is on but iMessage won't turn on? I am using unlocked&jailbreak ip4 with tmobile. I used unlock it.co method to use the edge but mms is not working.

    Have the same problem, for now using an apple ID, but would like to use my phone number. Hopefully someone figures this out.

    Thanks buddy....I took my sim out and put it back...I was able to turn on iMessage and now also activated it through my apple Id?

    But still MMS is not working...The camera logo in the message is not working.

    Are you using a Gevey sim? I am and the eject sim did not work for me..

    no...I did software unlock through ultraslow...I am on 1.59.00

    If it doesnt take your number for imessage check to see if it reads the number correctly from the sim in settings/phone, your iwn number should be there.

    You can also try trurning on airplane mode and off again

    it does have my number. The camera logo still doesn't show...

    how do u enter the mms setting here? I remember using it through cellular data but now it doesn't even show it.


    Please help

    iMessage is not activated yet...Just checked and it says...waiting for activation.

    Why would you want to turn imessage on? (consume more batt/ram)?
    If you have an unlimited tx plan, (or were never in fear of going over before 4s), then don't turn on imessage, no need for it -

    ok i turned it off...But still won't get any mms? The camera icon is still off

    You have to edit apn to get cellular data

    Are you jailbroken? If so, you can install tetherme from cydia and that will give you access to the cellular data in settings. If not, there is no way to make the changes.

    i was able to enter the mms setting and its working now...I have turned the iMessage feature off....I have unlimited txt so doesn't really matter to me.

    Maybe because we're not all in the USA or traveling abroad and your txt plan doesn't cover that...
