cannot use itunes for my iphone

When I connect the Iphone to my macbook, i tune will open then i get this message.

- (This iphone is already activated. you may disconnect this i phone now.)

When I press oky iphone will disappear form devices in ituns.

I uninstalled and installed itunes again but keeps on having the same problem.

I feel hapless since I cant use itunes


Can some one help pls

I believe this is a Mac only problem that quite a few people had lately.

Various things to try:
- upgrade iTunes to 8.1
- try it on a Windows PC if you have one available

If they don't work, what I'd do is this: reinstall the firmware from DFU mode, then activate in iTunes, then either restore contacts etc from backup or just by transferring them all across again. Bit of a pain but not as much of a pain as not being able to sync.
