Cannot use same email for multiple devices for imessaging?

    Trying to set up my wife's iPhone, have already set up her iPad. It gives me an error when trying to set up messaging using her appleid (which is being used for her iPad). It tells me the apple id is already in use.

    Can you not have one apple ID tied to multiple devices for messaging.

    you def can I have the same email for my ipad and iphone this "already in use error" has seem to sprouted up on launch day (i did my night before launch as im a developer)

    I have the same apple id on my iphone and ipad. That's the whole point.
