Canon 400D update?

I'm thinking of getting this camera in the next few months. But being new to SLR cameras I'm not sure if this is a good time to buy a 400D, is it due an update?

Canon normally introduce new models on an 18-month timecycle. So the earliest likely introduction is PMA at the end of January next year.
