I got mine. :) They are kind of cool, but the build quality blows. The stickers are already peeling off and the switches are modeled as dents instead of something that looks like a switch. I will take pics later if I get a chance.

My friend has one from buying his Mark II here in Hong Kong. Cool mug, build quality is definitely terrible, so terrible in fact that I would never use it for the fear of being poisoned by the materials. None the less, I spent more time looking at his mug than at his new camera. :)

Those with stainless steel insert should be "safe"?
I'd never drink from just a injected molded cup......

I just googled Nikon lens mug & found cupsshop.com and it looks like they have a selection of both Canon and Nikon mugs. They are quite pricey, though, starting at $43.00. Shipping is just $9.50, though. Too pricey for me, I'm saving for a new bike. (A new Trek Fuel, mtbdudex)

52 bucks- that's about 10 trips to Starbucks!

Got mine today. Got the 70-200 version from Canonmugs.com .
Was not happy with the customer service but it eventually came after a week.

I see yours came with stainless steel insert, while the 24-105 does NOT come with a stainless steel insert.....
1:1 Scale Canon EF 70-200mm L Lens Thermos Limited Edition
THIS IS A LENS MUG, NOT AN ACTUAL LENS.
Material: Stainless Steel Thermos Interior & Exterior Food Safe
This is not cheap replica thermos of which exterior is made of PVC plastic.
What you get is exactly the same one as the one Canon giveaway in Canada.

Or for mtnbikemama's other hobby $52 is about:
-(1) decent front or rear bike tire
-A Camelback
-On sale bike jersey (not sale they are $85)
-1/2 way there towards a Polar CS200 bike computer with heart rate monitor (I got thru Nashbar on sale)
-etc

problem is, every hobby seems to cost $$$ once you get "into it", and the various accessories/gadgets cost added $$.
(congrats mtnbikemama when you get the new ride)

with saying that, my bday is coming up so I might "hint" to my wife I'd like a cool Canon "L" coffee mug for it!

As stated my bday is coming up shortly, 2 weeks ago a friend suggested to my wife a nice present would be......a Canon 24-105mm Lens Coffee Cup!
Of course I knew nothing about it until by "accident" last night, after we read the 2 younger kids their bedtime stories I told her "I'd like a Canon coffee cup as a bday gift", she looked at me with the "what?" and as we went upstairs she thought one of the kids let the cat outta the bag.
No, just co-incidence, she ordered this one http://www.shop4tech.com/item9457.html

I'll post my picts once my shop4tech.com version comes in.

Lesson learned: No "secrets" from your sig other ......not like I was keeping this a secret or anything, just like everyone else I look at much-much "stuff" and end up buying much less.
There's always the 70-200mm that comes with the stainless steel insert.....

Nikon has one also, and I think it is actually sold by Nikon. It is a zoom so it extends and makes the cup bigger. Could be wrong, just glanced at it.

Next cup: Kool-Aide, as in that fabulous phrase "drinking the Kool-Aide". and Kool-Aide is a fabulous name in itself now that I think about it.

I just got the Canon 24-105 $19.95 coffee cup mug as bday gift last night, came home and my kids gave it to me as I came home.
For extra “safety” I’d prefer the thermos one due to added stainless steel insert, their site does claims “food grade plastic” for mine though….

fwiw, my AF/MF button & Stabilizer On/Off button Don't move....
Picts via very old cell phone camera.....I've drank 2 cups of coffee so far, and still am able to think, hopefully this is made with plastic with correct additives/stabilazers.....

Honestly, I sold 5-6 of these today, people wanted to buy one for themself or sig other.

So you're the seller of these? I found the Nikon one and I'm ordering. I do love the idea but how many ounces does it hold?

No, no, I'm just some guy here at work who brought in a cool coffee cup, and others liked it so much they ordered their own from the website...

After having mine for 2 months now:
-The coffee cup always catches someone off guard here at work, they think it's a real lens sometimes/etc. Conversation starter guaranteed.
-I don't like the snap on lid like I thought I would. To drink the coffee you push in the buttons like a real lens cap, then when you take the cap off.....moisture is on top and drips! Honestly not good.
-I also got the white 70-200 L coffee mug, the one with stainless insert. It's cap is different, and to drink you don't remove the cap rather slide a small portion to open a drink slit. Works perfect and no drips!

So - mostly really a cool thing to have, but the dripping moisture drops on the inside of the top when removed annoy me. I'd rather get the Canon 24-105mm Lens Coffee Mug, assuming it has a same style lid as my 70-200 L coffee mug.

OK, I have to share my mug story. I have the 24-105 mug, which my husband gave me as a surprise, after having placed a heavy rock inside the mug. Now, I do not own that lens, so when I unwrapped the gift, saw the box, and felt the weight of it (exactly what one would expect for that lens), my knee-jerk reaction was that he had just given me the lens (which was, of course, what he had hoped for when he put the rock inside of the mug).

Cruel, you might think? Not really. He knows I have no lust for that lens. So my initial reaction was really one of puzzlement. "Why did he buy me THAT lens??" And before that reaction could wear off and fade into "WOOHOO, new lens!!!", I noticed the text on the box. So all was well. I had a really cool new mug, and that made me really happy. :)

Classic :D

Plenty of cruel tricks that can be played with these mugs, I want one, I have a few ideas... :D

I want a 70-200mm f/2.8L mug. Or maybe it would be considered a stein at that point. :D

Yeah... And you leave it in your car and some bozo breaks into your car because he thinks it is a real chunk of glass... No thanks!
