canon hf10 metadata import

When importing files from canon hf 10 camcorder I would prefer the capture date to be part of the file naming. This was possible when I imported to a PC using Canons Image Mixer. I've now changed to Mac and ImageMixer is PC only. When importing using FCE 4 "log and transfer" files are given only a number. Anyone knowing a way to import to Mac while keeping the metadata (capture time)?
