I have a MBP with no firewire connection, and a HV30 that needs firewire to import footage. So, how do I go about getting footage from the camera to my computer? USB does not work with HDV... Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

You need a computer (Windows, Mac OS X or Linux) with Firewire, other options would be using a video capture device, but that would only result in SD footage, despite the recorder's ability to record in HD.

What about something like this? Moshi - FireWire 800-to-400 Adapter
It does have a firewire, but not the normal one im used to seeing. It is the second Unibody model with the sd card slot.
