I recently installed the software that came with my Canon Powershot A520 Digital Camera, and now when I plug my camera into the computer, the memory card in the camera doesn't appear as a disk on the desktop.

The only way to get download pictures off the camera is to use the crappy canon software, and I have no way of putting pictures back onto the card so I can take them to be printed.

I figure the software must have loaded something which prevents the memory card being mounted as a disk... anyone know how to reverse this?

Cheers,
Wes.

One solution would be to buy a USB flash card reader. Just be sure to get one that reads the media that your camera uses, be it CompactFlash, Memory Stick, Secure Digitial...etc. You can usually buy find for $15 or less.

If you're using Tiger you can try "Image Capture.app" in the applications folder, to get the pictures off your Canon. I would think that iPhoto would also automatically recognize your camera and enable you to remove the photos. So try out image capture, if it works for you, delete your canon software and hopefully the disk image will appear. Hope that helps
