cant add a buddy to aim using ichat

everytime I try and add a particular buddy, the screen name flashes for about 5 seconds then disappers. any ideas

that is odd. have you tried adium or a different client? reasons like this, the general bugginess of iChat are why i don't use it.

try Adium?

it always seems to run better than ichat...the only thing I use ichat for is the screen sharing if my girlfriend needs help with her macbook...
