Can’t Add Bookmark

In IOS 11, I cant add a bookmark unless it goes into Favorites. I like to keep the few forums that I frequent in Bookmarks so I find them easily. Everything else that I want to locate easily, I can deal with them all being in Favorites. Under the Share button on the top right of my iPad, there are 2 Places to select from, Add Bookmark and Add Favorite. However, it you select Add Bookmark , the Location Favorites shows and I cannot change it. So on this 10.5 iPad, IOS 11, I really (only) have 2 places that both Add to Favorites. Very irritating. I have too many showing in Favorites.
I have signed in/out of iCloud and hard reset my iPad. No change. Any other advice.

What iOS version are you on? On the latest beta, it works fine, I can add either bookmark or favorites. If you add to bookmark, the location section below, do not select it. If you select it, it will show it will add to favorite.

I am on IOS 11.2.2. And yeah, I have tried every way I can think of and Favorites is the only option under both Add Bookmark and Add to a Favorite. Under the Add Bookmark, Location is at the bottom of the little pop up. Only thing I can do is add or remove the check mark beside Location: Favorites, not change the Location.

If you tap on the word “Favorites” under “Add Bookmark” a list should pop up letting you select where to add the bookmark.

That’s just it, when I tap nothing happens. I did a hard reset on my iPP, which usually fixes little issues but it doesn’t fix this one.

Close Safari out of the App Switcher/Multitasking

Open Settings and go to Safari and tap “Clear History and Website Data.”

Reboot the iPad

Then try changing the location again when adding a bookmark

I tried all of the above suggestions, none worked on my 10.5”. I have only had it a week, first/only issue I have seen. Tried to add this Bookmark on my 12.9” and it worked as it should. And then of course now shows up in my Bookmarks list on my 10.5”. Thanks to all.

So I just came across this on my friends iPad Pro 10.5. After you tap add bookmark and you see “favorites” under “location”, put your finger on “favorites” and scroll up and you should see “bookmarks” show up below “favorites.”
