I've run into an issue where I can't adjust the screen brightness using the keyboard on my M1 MacBook Air. The issue persists thru reboots. However, the brightness can still be adjusted thru system preferences. Anyone else with this issue?

I'm experiencing the exact same issue as you described i.e. can't adjust screen brightness using keyboard (persists trough reboots) but can be adjusted by using the slider in control center (in the menu bar)

The issue went away after rebooting the computer a few more times. This time I used the 'Restart' option instead of 'shut down' (have no idea if it matters though). Maybe try that a few times until Apple releases an update.
