HomePod Can’t Airplay from Apple TV to Homepod

I can see my stereo HomePods in the Home app and can airplay to them from my iPad and iPhone just fine. When I try to Airplay from my Apple TV 4K, the HomePods are just absent from the Airplay menu. I’ve tried resetting both HomePods and restarting everything, to no avail. Any ideas?

It happened to me and assigning a fix IP to the HomePod solved the problem.

I first read this as 'Can't CarPlay from Apple TV to HomePod' and thought, what kind of setup is this?!?!?! LOL

You can set the audio from the Apple TV to be the HomePod instead of hdmi.
