With tvOS 18.4, I could Airplay website video from plocker on iPadOS Safari to ATV.
Since upgrading to tvOS 18.5, I get an đźš« on-screen when I airplay from the same website. (Other websites like Vimeo work just fine with Airplay.)

I tried everything mentioned on the official Airplay page at https://support.apple.com/en-us/102587

Anyone know what the problem could be? Should I downgrade to tvOS 18.4 and if so, how?

Running tvOS 18.5 on Apple TV 4K (3rd generation) Wi-Fi + Ethernet

TIA!

might be coincidental that it happened with the upgrade.

web developers can prevent airplay if they want. It's a few extra words in the code. That site could just have enabled it about the same time. This happens in the browser on the iPad, not the aTV.

Airplay also work in a couple ways, so it's possible the sites that work are doing it differently.
  • it can send the web location of the file and the aTV can pull it directly from the web
  • It can pull the file to the iPad, and the forward the raw file to the aTV
  • it can pull the file to the iPad, display it, and then re-encode and send it to the aTV.

try rebooting your router, as well as the appleTV and iPad. Most every issue I've had with airplay have been network related.
