I've backed up my phone to computer for years back to the first iphone. I do it once a month or so.

Today I get this error:

"iTunes could not backup this iPhone because an error occured."

However, it syncs fine.

Latest version of iTunes, OSX and iOS software, not jailbroken.

Hate when i can't fix a tech problem lol. Any help? I'm very tech savvy, so feel free.

I've already deleted old backups and cleared the lockdown folder, checked for updates, etc.

Have you tried a Reset and/or Restore from backup on the iPhone?

I presume your Mac has enough free space, but how big is your iPhone's Camera Roll? Since that is part of your backup, a very large Camera Roll may interfere with the backup process (just a guess).

I have the same problem, 6k photos is making the camera and other apps not usable

Get iMazing free version and try to make a backup. If it fails check the error and make one more backup with console opened to get logs. Filter by 'BackupAgent' to get only backup logs.

p.s. Any chance that there's an iCloud sync in progress? Have you tried airplane mode?
